Interactive online lectures and group activities conducted via Zoom.

SESSION 1:   

2 weeks July 6-17 2020

2 weeks July 20-31 2020

Expectations

Students are required to attend all class sessions, collaborate in small groups,  and perform 2 hrs of additional work to prepare for each class. 

​

Class Size

A maximum of 6 students will be accepted for each session.

CBRC is an activity based online course designed for highly motivated high school students who would like to move beyond a classroom understanding of biology and develop more familiarity with biotechnology and biological research. Suitable for any high school student who has already taken one biology course such as 9th grade biology.

About Waheeda Khalfan

Waheeda has a PhD from Princeton in Molecular Biology and has been a lecturer at Stanford for 15 years. She has designed and taught high school and undergraduate courses in introductory biology, genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology and infectious disease.  She is skilled at creating activity based instructional materials and explaining concepts to address varied learning levels. Waheeda loves to empower and excite students and give them the tools to explore scientific careers in biology.
